Athan Vorilas, CLU CLTC CMFC- President, Lighthouse Financial Network, LLC
Athan Vorilas has been the President/Managing Partner of Lighthouse Financial Network, LLC since 2008. He began his career as an Advisor with Prudential Preferred Financial Services in 1987 and quickly rose to the position of Managing Director of the New York Agency. In 2000 his firm was recognized with a GAMA International Gold Firm Award and by 2005 the firm grew to receive the prestigious GAMA International Master Firm Award. Athan has been a featured speaker at LIMRA, various domestic companies meetings, and may international companies from Greece, Israel, and Korea.

Bonnie Godsman- CEO, GAMA International
Bonnie Godsman joined GAMA International ten years ago, where she rose through the ranks to become vice president for corporate and business development. In this role, she oversaw all revenue departments at the association, including membership, LAMP, communications and PMG corporate relations. Under her leadership, GAMA has seen dramatic growth in revenue, membership, membership retention and LAMP attendance. In June 2014, Godsman took the helm as GAMA’s first, and youngest, female CEO with a drive and passion for taking the organization to the next level.

Clara Shih-CEO & Founder, Hearsay Social
Clara Shih is CEO and founder of Hearsay Social and member of the Starbucks Board of Directors. A pioneer in the social media industry, Clara developed the first social business application in 2007 and is a New York Times-featured bestselling author. She has been named one of Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs, Fast Company’s Most Influential People in Technology, and Businessweek’s Top Young Entrepreneurs. Based in Silicon Valley, Hearsay Social provides social business software for relationship managers to attract, retain, and grow customer relationships using popular social networks. Clara previously served in a variety of technical, product, and marketing roles at Google, Microsoft, and Salesforce.com. Clara graduated #1 in Computer Science at Stanford University, where she also received an MS in Computer Science – User Experience and Design. Clara also holds an MS in Internet Studies from Oxford University, where she studied as a U.S. Marshall Scholar.

Daralee Barbera ChFC CFP CLF CMFC- Managing Principal, Waddell & Reed
Daralee Barbera, GAMA’s 2014–15 president of the board of directors, joined Waddell & Reed in 1982. She is now a managing principal for the company, with some 50 financial advisors in seven offices based out of Costa Mesa, California. She has received the GAMA Platinum and Gold International Management awards for financial planning, as well as Waddell & Reed’s Crystal Plate and numerous other company honors. Her theme for GAMA during her presidential year is Growing Together — and she’s not kidding.

Edward Deutschlander, CLU CLF- CEO Elect, North Star Resource Group
Ed Deutschlander is currently the CEO Elect at North Star Resource Group which is one of the largest and oldest privately-held independent financial advising firms in the United States. Recognized as the premier recruiter in the financial services industry, Ed created his own consulting firm in 1998 to help some of the largest insurance companies (MetLife, John Hancock, Farmers Insurance, MassMutual, New England Financial A MetLife Company, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, Minnesota Life, American National and New York Life) improve their recruiting and training programs.

Guo Jie- Agency Director, Ping An Insurance Group, China
Guo Jie joined Ping An in 1999 and is currently the Agency Director of Ping An Insurance Group in Xiamen, China. Guo led his team of 523 advisors to clinch the Platinum award of Top Sales Agency at Ping An Insurance for three years – 2012, 2014 and 2015. From 2009 to 2015, Guo achieved an outstanding record of establishing five new sales teams and recruiting at least one advisor every month for three years. A multiple award recipient, Guo has received recognition for seven consecutive International Dragon Awards since 2009, and the International Quality Award from 2012 to 2015. He is also an MDRT qualifier from 2009 to 2013.

Krits Pitimana-aree, LUTCF Executive District Director of Jakawal 22 K AIA
Currently the Executive District Director of Jakawal 22 K AIA, Krits started his career as an advisor with AIA in 1988. He was appointed a group leader in 1991 and his management responsibilities rapidly expanded over the years. Since 2013, he has been the Executive District Director leading a team of 23 agency leaders and 130 advisors. Krits currently serves as the President of GAMA Thailand and is a life member of MDRT. Krits is also a recipient of numerous management awards in Thailand and the region, including ten Managers of the Year awards and was thrice recognized as Hall of Honor/Hall of Fame, a prestigious award for top producers amongst the managers and directors at AIA.
